My guess is that Cuisinart is resting on its laurels from before the millennium, and is now secretly lowering their product quality hoping people won't notice. It reminds me of buying a cheap product manufactured in Taiwan in the 1970s. This is our second Cuisinart food processor -- both have died very young deaths. However, I've never experienced such shoddy product quality. Will never buy Cuisinart again. Basically, after a few simple uses, they just won't power on. We didn't use them for anything unusual - just simple, quick chopping of vegetables.
I hardly used it so it didn't burn out on me. Also, in the same week I had another Cuisinart product die on me.
What's going on Cuisinart. The good news was that, that one was still covered under their warranty and they replaced it for me.
I purchased this item and it worked great.temporarily. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.
Your products used to be good. A few months after the warranty expired so did this mini prep machine.
I never worked it too hard so there was no reason for it to quit on me.
the blades aren't protected like the larger model. Dangerous when opening - I lost a serious chunk of skin, causing a lot of bleeding.
When you're in a hurry to feed a hungry baby at dinner, be very careful and slow down. I'm hesitant to keep it now that I see how much sharper these blades are than anything else I own.
I have a larger cuisinart food processor, and thought a smaller one would be ideal for quick baby food. The bottom line.
this isn't to be used when you're in a hurry; very thin and sharp blades. Well, take care when opening the box.
I assume you're supposed to first pull out the unpacking instructions (which are invisible until it's unpacked)., and the unit should be fully assembled (mine wasn't, the blade was loose in the box).
I use mine for nuts, cinnamon sticks, herbs, softer vegetables, onions & garlic, etc. that's what full size food processors are for. This is a great mini chopper for prep work or light duty chopping. I would not recommend uncooked potatoes. I've even made small batches of salsa and hummus. It is a useful small kitchen appliance, and it is easy to store and clean. Yes, the blade is sharp. But it is not meant for any heavy duty chopping.
IT WAS A LITTLE PRICEY BUT NOT THAT BAD. I PURCHASED THIS ITEM AFTER READING A RECOMMENDATION IN THE NEWSPAPER MAGAZINE SECTION. I FULLY RECOMMEND IT. GREAT ITEM. IT IS THE PERFECT SIZE AND WORKS GREAT. I LOVE IT.I HAVE USED A SMALLER ONE FOR A LONG TIME AND SORRY THIS WASN'T AVAILABLE BACK THEN.
